About Playroomy
Playroomy is a set of party games that run in a browser: charades, Pictionary words, Scattergories-style categories, a random team generator, icebreaker questions and would you rather.
Who writes the games
Every page is written and maintained by the Playroomy Games Team. We build the tools, write the decks and keep the rules pages accurate. When a page says "Updated", that is the month we last checked its decks and copy.
How the words and questions are checked
Each card, category and question is read and reviewed before it ships, for three things:
- Clarity. A player should understand it in one read, out loud, in a noisy room.
- Difficulty. Easy, medium and hard labels match how hard the card is to act, draw or answer, not how long the word is.
- Family safety. Every deck is clean enough for a classroom or an office. Adults and Hard decks are grown-up in topic, never explicit.
Weak items are rewritten or removed. Counts on each page come straight from the decks, so a heading that says 500+ means the deck really holds that many.
How the games work
The games run in your browser. There are no accounts. Settings travel in the link, so sending the link sends the exact setup, and names you type in the team generator stay on your device. Shuffles use your browser's random number generator, and the team generator uses its cryptographic one.
