Best strategy for winning Scattergories

The best Scattergories strategy is to write answers nobody else will think of, because matching answers score zero.

  1. Go for the unusual answer, not the first one that comes to mind.
  2. Use alliteration on proper nouns for bonus points.
  3. Skip a hard category and come back to it.
  4. Never leave a line blank. A weak answer can still be unique.
  5. Use A, An or The freely. They do not count as the first word.
  6. Challenge answers that bend the category, but keep it friendly.
